Creating pretty things to bring home the bacon

I’m off work for a month to get married in Florence so I have finally got round to putting up a post on our wedding invites. Since we are having a small wedding we were able to create wedding invite packages for each guest themed around Florence and our wedding date, the ninth day of the ninth month 2014.

Some details of the invites….

Kraft Box
Everything was contained within a kraft box that was silk screened with the main ninth of the ninth logo on the outside and a quote on the inside lid.

Invite
The actual invite is a GF Smith Colorplan Cobalt board (540gsm) with a copper foil applied to one side and a white foil on the reverse.

RSVP
The RSVP was letterpressed with a blind impression on the front and a single colour press on the inside. Paper used was a 100% cottonĀ  Saunders Waterford (300gsm). The RSVP came with a kraft envelope with a string and disc closure.

Travel Document Holder
This is made from kraft material and was blind embossed with our monogram. Inside the document holder there was a map of Florence and a 16 page booklet of essential information for the wedding. Both were printed digitally on a 170gsm offset.

Personalised Cards
Also inside the document folder were cards with custom messages addressed to each individual guest. We used moo.com’s Luxe Cards to achieve this cost effectively.

Newspaper
A 12 page tabloid size newspaper was printed digitally on newsprint and contained information on all our favourite places in Florence, who all the suppliers were and information about the wedding party.

DVD
This had an animation of the journey to Florence the guests will take - from the airport to the aisle. You can watch it here.

Illustrations
The illustrations that are used in the animation and the newspaper were created by Kristian Duffy. The project went so well for us that we now work together!

Photographs
Massive thanks to my soon to be brother in law, Simon Hutchinson, for taking these photos. He’s a talented guy, check out his flickr feed here
